Aelius Biotech is delighted to announce the launch of a new company website.

The site has been redesigned to provide a better user experience with clearer and faster ways to explore Aelius science, service offerings and information. The new pages include expanded technical descriptions, updated visuals, and direct links to model data and publications. The site enables a quick overview or a deeper dive into greater technical detail.

The improved Models Pages explain how the Aelius in vitro platform systems replicate the entire human digestive process, from ingestion to absorption and colonic microbial metabolism. They can be stand-alone or combined together from the;

• Digestion model that simulates the dynamic conditions of the human gastrointestinal tract, including the mouth, stomach, and small intestine.

• Mucus Permeation model which feature a mucus layer that mimics the barrier properties of gastrointestinal mucus.

• Absorption model combines digestive fluids and enzymes that simulate the breakdown of ingested substances, while a proprietary cell-compatible mucus layer acts as a natural barrier, protecting and mimicking the shielding effect observed in the human gut.

• Microbiome in vitro model simulates the microbial environment of the human colon using faecal samples from volunteers to develop a representative population.

The Benchmarking of Ingredients for Tolerability and Efficacy (BITE) human trial service for food safe products is also outlined with greater information on the types of endpoint and data that is typically generated.
